Pitchcall Athletics | Support & Tactical Manual

Welcome to the Command Center. This page provides the technical guidance required to keep your Pitchcall Athletics system operational during live game environments.

1. Hardware Architecture Overview

The Pitchcall system operates on a "Bridge" architecture. Understanding this flow is key to troubleshooting:

  • The Command Center (App): Your iPhone/iPad interface.

  • The Dugout Hub: The central bridge that receives your signal.

  • The Field Wearables: Watch devices worn by the battery and infield.

2. Initial Pairing (The "Tactical Handshake")

To establish a rock-solid link between your iOS device and the Dugout Hub:

  1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your iOS device.

  2. Power on the Dugout Hub.

  3. Open the Pitchcall Athletics app.

  4. The Status Header will indicate "Scanning for Hub..."

  5. Once found, the icon will turn Green and display "Connected to Dugout Gateway."

Note: Your device will "remember" your Hub. In future games, it will auto-connect silently as soon as you are within range.

3. Common Troubleshooting (The "Dugout Drill")

The App displays "Disconnected"

  • Range Check: Ensure you are within 30–50 feet of the Dugout Hub. If you walked to the outfield or the parking lot, simply walk back toward the dugout; the app is designed to reconnect automatically.

  • Power Cycle: Verify the Hub has a red LED indicator (power). If not, check your battery source.

  • The "Forget Hub" Reset: If connection persists in failing, go to Settings (Gear Icon) - Forget Current Hub. This clears the BLE cache and allows you to perform a fresh handshake.

Wearables are not receiving plays

  • Check the Hub: If the App is green (Connected) but players aren't seeing plays, the issue is between the Hub and the Watches.

  • Reboot Hub: A quick power cycle of the Hub usually clears the broadcast channel.

4. Customizing Your Command Center

Adding Custom Pitches

  1. Navigate to the Pitch tab.

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the Pitch list and tap (+) Add.

  3. Enter the name (e.g., "Knuckleball") and save.

  4. To Delete: Long-press any custom pitch to trigger the "Delete" menu.

Tactical Hotkeys

Your app supports up to 3 "Instant-Send" Hotkeys for high-speed scenarios (e.g., "Out Out" or "Check 1st").

  • To Add: Tap the (+) Add button in the Hotkey section.

  • To Edit/Delete: Long-press the Hotkey button to remove it and make room for a new one.

5. Maintenance & Battery Care

  • Hub Battery: We recommend a 10,000mAh USB power bank for the Hub, which should last approximately 12–15 hours of continuous play-calling.

  • TWatch-S3 Care: Ensure watches are charged to 100% before the first pitch.
